The Analytics Engine’s python library, climakitae, is now on version 1.1.0. The following changes have been made since version 1.0.1.

  • Added global warming levels approach and related functionality as a data retrieval option
  • Added gwl_timing_table.csv to package data and code used to create the file (generate_gwl_timing_table.py)
  • Handled an error in WarmingLevels.calculate()
  • Added goodness of fit prints for goodness-of-fit of distributions for 1 in X calculations to CAVA data function
  • Optimized FFWI by using xarray clipping vs numpy clipping
  • Allows individual GCMs to be selected using a warming level approach
  • Optimized CAVA pilot function by primarily using batch mode
  • Enables warming level simulation to be dropped for LOCA models in CAVA pilot
  • Fixed warming level simulation filtering bug with warming levels
  • Added new bias corrected WRF model to CAVA pilot
  • Refactored CAVA pilot to integrate new global warming approach and naming conventions via DataParameters

August 6, 2024

v1.0 of Analytics Engine Guidance materials is now live: https://analytics.cal-adapt.org/guidance/ The new suite of guidance materials includes:

  • An overview of climate models and projections,
  • How to use AE outputs for decision-making,
  • A glossary of frequently used terms, and
  • Key references An important feature of the new materials is the “Guidance on Using Climate Data in Decision-Making” section. This section provides original content and practical answers to common questions regarding the use of climate data, such as selecting appropriate data and models, and considering spatial and temporal scales.
